A dedicated phono input with built-in moving-magnet preamplification lets you connect most turntables directly to the receiver — no separate phono stage needed — with the correct pre-amplification and RIAA equalization for authentic, full-bodied vinyl playback. A Phono Volume Offset keeps levels consistent as you move between records and your other sources. Sony designed the STR-DH190 to pair especially well with its own PS-HX500 and PS-LX310BT turntables for an easy, sound-matched vinyl setup.

Smarter Bluetooth with Bluetooth Standby

Built-in Bluetooth streams music, podcasts, and more wirelessly from a smartphone, tablet, or computer straight to your main speakers. With Bluetooth Standby, a paired device can power the receiver on automatically — begin playback and the STR-DH190 wakes on its own. It also fits neatly alongside voice-assistant smart speakers such as Amazon Alexa, so wireless control can be part of a broader connected setup.

100 W + 100 W of Clean Stereo Power

A discrete power amplifier delivers 100 watts per channel (8 ohms, 1 kHz, 1% THD) with the current and headroom to drive a wide range of bookshelf and compact floorstanding speakers. The discrete design keeps the signal path short and distortion low, so output stays composed and detailed as the volume climbs. A Pure Direct mode bypasses the tone and balance circuitry for the cleanest possible route from source to speaker.

Connect Up to Four Speakers (A + B)

The A+B speaker function drives two pairs of speakers at once or independently — ideal for filling a single large room, sending sound to a second room, or running a set of outdoor speakers from the same receiver. A front-panel selector switches between the A, B, or combined outputs.

Four Analog Inputs and an Output

Beyond the phono stage, four stereo RCA analog inputs connect a CD player, media streamer, TV, or other line-level components, while a stereo RCA output feeds a recorder or second zone. It is a straightforward, flexible foundation for a wired system built around quality sources.

FM Tuner with 30 Presets

A built-in FM tuner brings free over-the-air radio into the system, with automatic tuning, station-name display, and 30 presets so your favorite stations are always a button away.

A supplied remote (RMT-AA400U) puts source selection, volume, and tuning within reach from your listening position. A full-size ¼-inch gold-plated headphone output enables private listening, and a front-panel 3.5 mm auxiliary input makes it easy to plug in a portable player or phone on the fly.

At just 5¼ inches tall, the STR-DH190 is built to fit comfortably into conventional AV cabinets and tighter shelf spaces where a taller receiver won't. Its clean, minimalist black finish keeps it visually low-key alongside the rest of your gear.

Power Section Engineered for Clarity

Clean audio starts at the power supply. A large-capacity power transformer provides stable current for the amplifier, and the phono amplifier and transformer are deliberately positioned to minimize magnetic-field interference with the sensitive phono signal — an attention to internal layout that pays off in quieter, cleaner playback.
